After taking down the ball on Hungary's corner Balazs Lajos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Costin Giugiuc quite easily take care of the ball. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Costică Chiriloaie sent off a good shot on target. Aurelio Mederi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fodor Daniel firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 25th minute, Antal Valentin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costică Chiriloaie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurelio Mederi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fodor Daniel came out and tried to block the shot, but Aurelio Mederi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 30th minute. In the 87th minute Dumitru Nichita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, A.C. Milan's Emil Gheară nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fodor Daniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Aurelio Mederi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hungary players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for A.C. Milan.
