After 2 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Barreto. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Sá in the 5th minute of play. Haroldo Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 6th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Enzo Nahia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Amorim was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Sá in the 14th minute of play. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Sá in the 15th minute of the match. Délio Coutinho hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Bruno Bastos hit a great ball. Portugal were furious when Raul Caetano was red carded, 37 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 38 minutes Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim managed, with a little bit of luck, save Aníbal Sá's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aníbal Sá went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 42 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipe Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Dante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 44th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Nilmar de Moraes took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Wilson Amorim to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Barreto to make the kick off. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Breno Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Haroldo Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipinho Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Sá in the 78th minute of the match. In the 83rdth minute of the game Breno Loyola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arthur Queraria charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arthur Queraria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Daniel Pimentel 95 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
