Taquaritinga's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Felipe Barreto was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Rodolfo Miranda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Haroldo Dante quite easily take care of the ball. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haroldo Dante having to make a save. Haroldo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipe Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Dante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 31 minutes of play, Portugal's Caetano Moreira made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Haroldo Dante was left in no man's land by his defense there! Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar de Moraes in the 35th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Wilson Amorim threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Enzo Nahia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tarcisio Couto took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Nilmar de Moraes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wilson Amorim quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 41 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tarcisio Couto who took care of the corner kick. If Graciano Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Felipinho Amorim struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Haroldo Dante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. 97 minutes into the game, Breno Loyola cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
