An unexpectedly hard shot by Holger Ettur in the 12th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without István Sipos having to interfere. Holger Ettur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Holger Ettur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Pierońskie Hanysy's István Sipos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save FC Pierońskie Hanysy from getting a goal against them. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Chris Mergenthaler fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Chris Mergenthaler a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Holger Ettur in the 28th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, FC Pierońskie Hanysy's István Sipos got control of the ball when Frank Sachs tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th match minute, FC Pierońskie Hanysy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wieslaw Mazierz to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Holger Ettur to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Holger Ettur in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. Holger Ettur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 59th minute of play forced FC Pierońskie Hanysy's goalkeeper István Sipos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thorbjørn Brunswick hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Sven Krakouer's late challenge caught a FC Pierońskie Hanysy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven Krakouer helped the player get up and apologised. After 77 played minutes FC Pierońskie Hanysy got a freekick which was hit by Thorbjørn Brunswick. FC Pierońskie Hanysy's Dawid Cytrynski was substituted for Wieslaw Mazierz. FC Pierońskie Hanysy made a substitution. Lucjan Klimkiewicz replaced Miromir Burdalski. The supporters of Germany booed when FC Pierońskie Hanysy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thorbjørn Brunswick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Geovanni Araújo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geovanni Araújo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Germany manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing FC Pierońskie Hanysy to win.
