An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 3rd minute of play forced S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r's goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belgium's Nigel Devos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Abdurrahim Bahar, made in the 5th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Vanderstraeten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Ravelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Sander Dermaut hit a great ball. In the 9th minute Marcu Ianculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Belgium's Thomas Ravelli threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edward Vanderstraeten, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Belgium were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edward Vanderstraeten took the corner. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thomas Ravelli having to make a save. With a little luck, S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r's Thomas Ravelli got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edward Vanderstraeten struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Thomas Ravelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgium. Laurens Vandamme hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Abidin Taşkın got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Ianculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomas Ravelli made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. In the 27th minute, Nigel Devos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcu Ianculescu in the 32nd minute of the match. S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Belgium's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Abidin Taşkın took the corner. The corner led S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r's Abdurrahim Bahar to fire away a dangerous shot which Casper Claes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r's goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute Wang Rong Jing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcu Ianculescu in the 38th minute of the match. Thomas Ravelli was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edward Vanderstraeten showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 39 minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edward Vanderstraeten during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edward Vanderstraeten hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wang Rong Jing was the one to do the kick off. Onur Ali Batıhan kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Thomas Ravelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yves Dervaux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Edward Vanderstraeten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thomas Ravelli was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 61st match minute, S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Onur Ali Batıhan to maneuver through the defense. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Ianculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Onur Ali Batıhan's late challenge caught a Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Onur Ali Batıhan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Belgium booed when S⚽ma S⚽tes Sp⚽r was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Onur Ali Batıhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Ravelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute of the match, Wang Rong Jing got a very nice opportunity to score, but Casper Claes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
