FC Panat's supporters rose to their feet, but Dacian Iorgu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute, Dacian Iorgu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of FC Panat booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Mergenthaler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Panat's zone, Frank Sachs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dimitris Charalambopoulos came out of the goal and Frank Sachs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Dacian Iorgu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sachs to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dimitris Charalambopoulos was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Panait Moșneanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Panait Moșneanu ran back to his position shaking his head. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezar Bourceanu in the 85th minute of play. Panait Moșneanu scored 0-3 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Panat's İlhami Uçman was substituted for Cezar Bourceanu. Panait Moșneanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 91st minute Panait Moșneanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
