Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Hungary's Antal Valentin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takacs Tibor in the 6th minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Takacs Tibor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl did a great save. Takacs Tibor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Major Barna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martyon Diehl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlisle Fenwick in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ned Mills was slow to take the kick. During this time Boroondara Milan's players had a chance to rest. Boroondara Milan's Ned Mills was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fodor Daniel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Martyon Diehl was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Antal Valentin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Antal Valentin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Jason Sperling hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute of the match, Antal Valentin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Martyon Diehl was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Martyon Diehl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 43rd minute. After 44 minutes Boroondara Milan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antal Valentin who took care of the corner kick. In the 44th minute, Hungary's Takacs Tibor fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Martyon Diehl was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlisle Fenwick to make the kick off. Martyon Diehl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Balazs Lajos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martyon Diehl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Carlisle Fenwick had several of the Hungary's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 64 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Fodor Daniel as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Arty Shearn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute of the match Boroondara Milan got a corner. Hungary's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ned Mills ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 71st match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bakos Endre to maneuver through the defense. Boroondara Milan made a substitution. Rusty Reynolds replaced Paco Everett. Boroondara Milan's Carlisle Fenwick managed to work through Hungary's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Carlisle Fenwick dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antal Valentin in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martyon Diehl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A throw-in in the 80th minute of the game was made by Bakos Endre with Balazs Lajos as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 81st match minute, Boroondara Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benny Atkin to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Major Barna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Martyon Diehl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When the referee ended the match the Hungary players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
