Newcastle United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antal Valentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Thomas Vollmar notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hungary's Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Boros Benedek kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zé Paulo Zonta was slow to take the kick. During this time Newcastle United's players had a chance to rest. A well done corner resulted in Pankracy Malicki drilling the ball in to score 2-1 behind Hungary's goalkeeper. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Boros Benedek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 30th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Mikolaj Jerzyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Antal Valentin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 40th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Thomas Vollmar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fodor Daniel, 3-2. Mikolaj Jerzyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Vollmar to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute Thomas Vollmar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Katona Janos got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Hungary's Antal Valentin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mikolaj Jerzyk. That made the score 3-3 after 54 minutes of play. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Szekeres Tamas hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Thomas Vollmar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 61 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Pacholewski came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Major Barnas short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Mikolaj Jerzyk to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 67th minute Adam Pacholewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. Mikolaj Jerzyk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 76th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Antal Valentin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mikolaj Jerzyk. That made the score 4-4 in the 77 minute of play. In the 81st minute, Antal Valentin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikolaj Jerzyk having to interfere. In the 91stth minute of the game Thomas Vollmar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Thomas Vollmar put it in 5-4 from a short distance just to the right of Fodor Daniel. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Newcastle United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hungary had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
