Belgium were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Hala Madrid Iraki FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edward Vanderstraeten took the corner. In the 16th minute Marcelo Gallarde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Genílson Carneiro. Genílson Carneiro came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Casper Claes could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubinho Novaes in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hala Madrid Iraki FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mats Hermansson in the 28th minute. It was a well-played corner which Marcelo Gallarde managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ruben Montez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yves Dervaux in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Rubinho Novaes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruben Montez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 44th minute of play forced Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalkeeper Ruben Montez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Hala Madrid Iraki FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Genílson Carneiro hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

51 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Rubinho Novaes came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 54th minute of play forced Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalkeeper Ruben Montez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute of the match Hala Madrid Iraki FC got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mats Hermansson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Genílson Carneiro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Belgium's Casper Claes did a great save. Hala Madrid Iraki FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten scored to the left of an out of position Ruben Montez, making the score, 1-2. Hala Madrid Iraki FC made a substitution. Kristian Tillman replaced Stefan Danielsson. Hala Madrid Iraki FC made a substitution. Ciro Di Marzio replaced Marcelo Gallarde. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubinho Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Mats Hermansson got a free kick in the 77th minute. Genílson Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Claes having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Rubinho Novaes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Casper Claes. Belgium's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rubinho Novaes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After a rather tough play, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten got a free kick in the 86th minute. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubinho Novaes in the 87th minute of play. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genílson Carneiro in the 88th minute of the match. With a little luck, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Ruben Montez got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 93 minutes of play, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Genílson Carneiro made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Casper Claes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hala Madrid Iraki FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Belgium had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
