Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Balu De Hond in the 23rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Belgium's Laurens Vandamme. In the 25th minute, Hong Sha Sang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The throw-in from Balu De Hond in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Belgium's Laurens Vandamme. Eendracht Vooruit's Atay Türegün played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 38th minute of play. After 42 minutes, Hong Sha Sang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eendracht Vooruit and the Belgium players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Belgium booed when Eendracht Vooruit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hong Sha Sang didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute of the match Edward Vanderstraeten shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Atay Türegün showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 44th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atay Türegün saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Eendracht Vooruit fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 48th minute. Penalty! The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Eendracht Vooruit's Gery Burhanuddin was substituted for Wágner Recife. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Vanderstraeten to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eendracht Vooruit's goalkeeper Atay Türegün, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gery Burhanuddin in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th minute Gery Burhanuddin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Atay Türegün in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eendracht Vooruit's Balu De Hond managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Floris Claeys in the 71 minute of the game. Gery Burhanuddin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Claes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Belgium's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mihai Encea was slow to take the kick. During this time Eendracht Vooruit's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Eendracht Vooruit's Mihai Encea to fire away a dangerous shot which Casper Claes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Eendracht Vooruit's goalkeeper Atay Türegün had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. Atay Türegün made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 80th minute. 85 minutes into the match, Eendracht Vooruit's Gery Burhanuddin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casper Claes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Balu De Hond during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Balu De Hond kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Atay Türegün made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. Gery Burhanuddin took the ball and in the 100 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casper Claes. Casper Claes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.
