Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, La Mora CAT's Etor Benito got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Rambo Jon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nader Shehta during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 played minutes La Mora CAT got a freekick which was hit by Nader Shehta. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 34th minute of play forced La Mora CAT's goalkeeper Rambo Jon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Mora CAT's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Lars Meesters put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rambo Jon. After 46 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gijsbert ter Kruimer. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Jani Petters quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of Netherlands booed when La Mora CAT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urbasa Alabern didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 70th minute of play forced La Mora CAT's goalkeeper Rambo Jon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. La Mora CAT's Joerie De Cat was substituted for Etor Benito. Rambo Jon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 78 minute of play. La Mora CAT's Oto Zamora was substituted for Severino Coutinho. The supporters of La Mora CAT booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 95 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Policarpio came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jose Policarpio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Netherlands failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
