The referee gave Straedelburgh a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. In the 14th minute of the match, Viriato Moura tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aderbal Santos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aderbal Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aderbal Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Straedelburgh's Sílvio Ferrão. But to his dismay, Sílvio Ferrão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Daniel Pimentel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Aderbal Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Straedelburgh's Aderbal Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Straedelburgh from getting a goal against them. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Madureira in the 37th minute of the match. Straedelburgh's Aderbal Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Moreira in the 39th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Barreto in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aderbal Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aderbal Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 60th minute of play. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. A collision led to Straedelburgh getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Luciano Mineiro hit a great ball. If Felipinho Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
