After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 10th minute, A.C. Milan's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Frank Sachs fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Germany booed when A.C. Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinand Radu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.C. Milan's zone, Frank Sachs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Voican came out of the goal and Frank Sachs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Voican made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 16th minute of play. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of A.C. Milan booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albin Holweck didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Albin Holweck fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Albin Holweck a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Albin Holweck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the game, A.C. Milan's Alexandru Raţiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 37th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Voican saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Voican was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Albin Holweck might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristian Voican. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albin Holweck ran back to his position shaking his head. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristian Voican having to make a save. Cristian Voican made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 81st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in A.C. Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Enceanu to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Trifănucă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Germany supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching A.C. Milan's performance. The match ended with a win for A.C. Milan.
