In the 14th minute, Wim Wilmes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vânderson Saa. The goal made the score 2-2. Barcellos Mineiro FC's attentive Amílton Loyola managed to snatch the ball when Gust Ennemans made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. Gustaaf Groeneveldt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Vânderson Saa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vânderson Saa saved Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting behind. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dale Dolar, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliézer de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Netherlands fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 48th minute, Wim Wilmes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vânderson Saa. The goal made the score 4-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dale Dolar made a kick off. Dale Dolar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Eikelkamp came free, but Vânderson Saa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 62nd minute of play forced Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Vânderson Saa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vânderson Saa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Carrascal in the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Wim Wilmes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-3. Vânderson Saa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dale Dolar came free with the goalkeeper in the 96th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arnout Reekers could save by the left post. If Dale Dolar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
