An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 3rd minute of play forced 1989 Blxsk's goalkeeper Eriberto Honesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eriberto Honesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th minute, Sander Dermaut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Honesto having to interfere. Eriberto Honesto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sander Dermaut in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Nigel Devos hit a great ball. Marcos Ekhi shot from long distance in the 43rd minute, but Casper Claes was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. In the 44th minute Alvaro Tiniebra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saverio Checa in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Godoy to make the kick off. Yves Dervaux came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eriberto Honesto could save by the left post. Eriberto Honesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yves Dervaux in the 66th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Yves Dervaux notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of 1989 Blxsk's Eriberto Honesto. Eriberto Honesto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 1989 Blxsk's Severiano Jeraldo was substituted for Saverio Checa. 1989 Blxsk's Roman Arlo was substituted for Miguel Godoy. In the 71st minute Severiano Jeraldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remigio Torres charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remigio Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Many of Belgium's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Belgium may have spent more time on the ball, but 1989 Blxsk were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
