Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Italy's Zaccheo Andolina started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rikard Wolff scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flavio Vittori, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Real Södertälje's Carsten Eckstein got control of the ball when Zaccheo Andolina tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 21 minutes Italy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Reynaldo Cerezo who took care of the corner kick. Nils-Åke Wickander took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The supporters of Italy booed when Real Södertälje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Björk didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carsten Eckstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Åke Wickander came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Zaccheo Andolina kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carsten Eckstein. That made the score 1-2 in the 37 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sigfrido Auletta got free with Carsten Eckstein in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sigfrido Auletta hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Åke Wickander in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 48th minute of play forced Real Södertälje's goalkeeper Carsten Eckstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Nils-Åke Wickander made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Real Södertälje's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Carsten Eckstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carsten Eckstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 54 minutes into the game, Italy's Sigfrido Auletta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carsten Eckstein made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sigfrido Auletta in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carsten Eckstein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 64 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carsten Eckstein. Real Södertälje's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zaccheo Andolina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Real Södertälje's Evelio Rico was substituted for Nils-Åke Wickander. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. In the 83rd minute Italy were awarded a corner. Siricio Liotta went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Guiscardo Davide almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Real Södertälje's Carsten Eckstein did a great save. In the 89th minute Adriano Curto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carsten Eckstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carsten Eckstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Curto, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Evelio Rico kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Italy's Adriano Curto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carsten Eckstein made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. Real Södertälje's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
