With a little luck, Limburg United's Sean Van Dijck got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sean Van Dijck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Sean Van Dijck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sean Van Dijck. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joris De Raeve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Van Dijck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Limburg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleandro Nesta didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joris De Raeve in the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brend Vanden Driessche in the 33rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes, Limburg United's Froilan Abar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnout Reekers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Limburg United reached it. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Van Dijck having to interfere. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Limburg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Froilan Abar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Brend Vanden Driessche came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Limburg United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brend Vanden Driessche couldn't finish the play. Limburg United's Sean Van Dijck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 64th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Sean Van Dijck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Limburg United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The corner ended in Gijsbert ter Kruimer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Limburg United's Sean Van Dijck did a great save. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Van Dijck having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aleandro Nesta hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Limburg United's Sean Van Dijck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 94th minute of play. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
