Baltasar Matias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 9th minute of play. Luís Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Flavio Vittori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baltasar Matias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Luís Braga sent off a good shot on target. Baltasar Matias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 17th minute of the match. VB-Team's Baltasar Matias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siricio Liotta in the 31st minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Luís Braga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavio Vittori. Luís Braga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Joaquim de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Vittori having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Italy's Zaccheo Andolina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baltasar Matias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Porziano Marchitelli struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Baltasar Matias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

53 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Braga came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute of the match, Porziano Marchitelli got a very nice opportunity to score, but Baltasar Matias was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 61 minutes into the match, Shao Kun Yuan notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Italy's Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Zaccheo Andolina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. VB-Team's Luís Caeiro was substituted for Joaquim de Barros. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for VB-Team! The goalkeeper, Baltasar Matias, was totally fooled by Italy's Sigfrido Auletta, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. With a little luck, VB-Team's Baltasar Matias got control of the ball when Zaccheo Andolina tried to sneak it across the goal line. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Braga in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Caeiro in the 93rd minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute of the game Arthur Guerra made a throw-in which Luís Braga played forward. The audience was convinced that Luís Caeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Vittori was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Italy walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
