Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antal Valentin in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximino Acevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Antal Valentin put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Maximino Acevedo. In the 40th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Guilherme Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute, one of Hungary:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hungary. Alf Håning placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After the first half Hungary were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arturo Bondi made a kick off. Fazendinha's Doni Batista was substituted for Gavino Guter. Arturo Bondi scored 4-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fodor Daniel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Acevedo having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Luiz Guilherme Melo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. After 95 played minutes Fazendinha got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão de Barros. Hungary's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Fazendinha had won, even though Hungary had held more of the ball.
