Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Spain's Omar Toledo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the game, Edmondo Giorda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.S. Udinese's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Spain the free kick. Edmondo Giorda kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 9th minute of the match Omar Toledo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alvaro Rotili skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexander Bottone got free with Gabriel Ascaso in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ercole Fiorentino. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Bottone in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Aranda in the 29th minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alexander Bottone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gabriel Ascaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Bottone, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. The supporters of A.S. Udinese booed when Spain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Criado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Spain's zone, Alexander Bottone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Ascaso came out of the goal and Alexander Bottone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The A.S. Udinese players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Spain were winning 0-1.
A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Merexildo Oliveras replaced Ercole Fiorentino. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Merexildo Oliveras to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Bottone came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Omar Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Omar Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Alvaro Rotili tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Dino Pozzoli replaced Bruno Maranzano. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adria Bielsa in the 66th minute of the match. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Omar Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Alexander Bottone came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the A.S. Udinese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Bottone couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute, Alexander Bottone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merexildo Oliveras in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute A.S. Udinese were awarded a corner. Alberigo Di Franco went to the cornerflag to take it. A.S. Udinese's Alberigo Di Franco was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gabriel Ascaso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 77 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Bottone came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, David Aranda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Spain's Pau Herrero was substituted for David Aranda. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Ruiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute Alexander Bottone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pau Herrero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Alvaro Rotili made a huge save. 95 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carles Cherro. Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Bottone in the 96th minute of the match. Santiago Sartori kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Spain played a much better game than A.S. Udinese and deserved their victory. The A.S. Udinese players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
