Italy's Siricio Liotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by León Rapela, made in the 25th minute of the game. In the 27th minute of the match Italy got a corner. Union Y Progreso F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigfrido Auletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dragomir Marchovski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siricio Liotta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Zaccheo Andolina made the kick off in the second half. If Zaccheo Andolina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeng Ting Xing got free with Flavio Vittori in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute Costante Segarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Union Y Progreso F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Dragomir Marchovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Santiago Meruendano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Porziano Marchitelli, made in the 66th minute of the game. 73 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Dragomir Marchovski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
