Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Iulian Pietreanu started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Netherlands booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gong Jun Feng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Hector Grabiel got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnout Reekers quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gigel Horhoianu hit a great ball. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gong Jun Feng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 23rd minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 34th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie and right to Egbert Nijveldt. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iulian Pietreanu in the 37th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gong Jun Feng managed to reach the ball for a save. Zenon Galagan hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Lars Meesters struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Gong Jun Feng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. In the 50th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Jun Feng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gong Jun Feng having to interfere. Gong Jun Feng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Arósio in the 66th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes FC UNIREA Alba Iulia got a freekick which was hit by Zenon Galagan. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marciano Cambranes in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Lars Meesters got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Hector Grabiel hit a great ball. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gong Jun Feng quite easily take care of the ball. 93 minutes into the game, one of Netherlands:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The excitement rose when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Wilson Arósio after 96 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Netherlands's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Netherlands players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
