Egbert Nijveldt made in the 7th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gijsbert ter Kruimer immediately put the ball in play. Manuel Isăilă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Through an outstanding action, after 11 minutes, Arnout Reekers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Isăilă in the 13th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Ninjas in Pyjamas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson 慕容 to maneuver through the defense. Cai Yue Guang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 21st minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Ninjas in Pyjamas's Cai Yue Guang got control of the ball when Lars Meesters tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denílson 慕容 during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Kees Mooiweer got a free kick in the 76th minute. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Manuel Isăilă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Isăilă in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cai Yue Guang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
