The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ilija Skugor acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Oliver Dejonckheere. Gustav Volckaerts kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goal looked a bit too open when Damir Pongrac came free, but Dominic Colebrants reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damir Pongrac in the 11th minute of play forced Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goalkeeper Dominic Colebrants to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilija Skugor was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Teun Van Heurick capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teun Van Heurick really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Toni Mauzer scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dominic Colebrants, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Damir Pongrac had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dominic Colebrants. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damir Pongrac was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 26 minutes into the match, Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joonatan Ryers. Croatia's Ilija Skugor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Croatia from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin defense, Damir Pongrac kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dominic Colebrants. The Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dominic Colebrants should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute Toni Mauzer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominic Colebrants saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teun Van Heurick, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half Croatia were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Toni Mauzer was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Croatia got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Kostelac. 53 minutes into the game, Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's Joonatan Ryers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilija Skugor made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harald Rockloos, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 58 minutes, Teun Van Heurick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin and the Croatia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Eduard Kostelac got a free kick in the 77th minute. Dominic Colebrants showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toni Mauzer, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 83rd play minute Damir Pongrac came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dominic Colebrants. 3-5. Ilija Skugor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Van hoegaerde in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Mauzer in the 92nd minute of play forced Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goalkeeper Dominic Colebrants to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
