The supporters of Netherlands booed when Overpower FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Driver didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Overpower FC's goalkeeper Brett Hart, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Overpower FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Overpower FC's goalie and right to Egbert Nijveldt. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Overpower FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After having played for 17 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brett Hart read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Brett Hart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timo Werner, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Timo Werners short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Arnout Reekers to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 65 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brett Hart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gustaaf Groeneveldt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brett Hart was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. When Ademar Quadros fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Overpower FC's protests and gave Ademar Quadros a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th match minute, Overpower FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Quadros to maneuver through the defense. Brett Hart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 90th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when David Beckham Jr sent off a good shot on target.
