Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Zaccheo Andolina took the kick off in the first half of the match. Adérito Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Flavio Vittori made a huge save. When Zaccheo Andolina came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zaccheo Andolina couldn't finish the play. Claudemiro Tristão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Joško Gvardiol in the 12th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Celso Eiró's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Vittori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to GD Almargense getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Idalécio Veloso hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Celso Eiró notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Italy's Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. GD Almargense were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Italy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alexandre Eanes took the corner. In the 35th minute of the match GD Almargense got a corner. Italy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alexandre Eanes ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Benedito Rebelo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind GD Almargense's goalkeeper Claudemiro Tristão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudemiro Tristão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. GD Almargense's Claudemiro Tristão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celso Eiró stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match GD Almargense got a corner. Italy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alexandre Eanes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Italy booed when GD Almargense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Rebelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudemiro Tristão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zaccheo Andolina went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 61st minute, Italy's Zaccheo Andolina dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The supporters of GD Almargense booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sostene Vitulli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zarco Patrício took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 70 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Vides came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudemiro Tristão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Italy's Claudemiro Tristão threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sigfrido Auletta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Idalécio Veloso made in the 86th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Celso Eiró. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 92nd minute of the game Idalécio Veloso made a throw-in which Alexandre Valadares played forward. Claudemiro Tristão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 96th minute. In the 97th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Siricio Liotta went to the cornerflag to take it. Italy's Adriano Curto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Claudemiro Tristão in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Italy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
