The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tạ D Artagnan during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Alin Chiru tried to sneak it across the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ekhemos Kezdoglou was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alin Chiru went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Ekhemos Kezdoglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 24th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Acatar getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Florin Martin hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes FC Acatar got a freekick which was hit by Stefanos Ntinopoulos. Alin Chiru took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The supporters of FC Acatar booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egbert Nijveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Acatar's Paul Taşcu got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

55 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ekhemos Kezdoglou, 2-2. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Constantin Bâlea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Ekhemos Kezdoglou made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. The Netherlands fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Netherlands's David Eikelkamp looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Albert Grămescu made in the 71st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Netherlands's Lars Meesters. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Mathijn Doctor got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute of the match Constantin Bâlea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 79th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ekhemos Kezdoglou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ekhemos Kezdoglou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 82nd minute of play forced FC Acatar's goalkeeper Ekhemos Kezdoglou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wim Wilmes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Ekhemos Kezdoglou when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 88 minutes into the game, Wim Wilmes lined in a short shot 2-4 behind a frustrated Ekhemos Kezdoglou. After 91 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Netherlands and the FC Acatar players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Acatar booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Lars Meesters got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Alin Chiru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Acatar.
