Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres Stevens in the 8th minute of play. Carlisle Fenwick's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andres Stevens went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 24th minute Paco Everett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paco Everett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paco Everett in the 25th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paco Everett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Germany's Janik Vogt quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jack Reisz, made in the 32nd minute of the game. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlisle Fenwick in the 35th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlisle Fenwick in the 36th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Carlisle Fenwick's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 40th minute of the match Boroondara Milan got a corner. Germany's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ned Mills ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Germany players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Boroondara Milan were winning 0-4.

The wind increased when Carlisle Fenwick made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Sven Krakouer. In the 55th minute, Carlisle Fenwick reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tommy Kahn. The goal made the score 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlisle Fenwick in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. Carlisle Fenwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Germany booed when Boroondara Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Reisz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andres Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boroondara Milan's Rusty Reynolds was substituted for Paco Everett. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. When Carlisle Fenwick in the 79th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Tommy Kahn kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-7 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. 82 minutes into the game, Carlisle Fenwick recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn. Carlisle Fenwick showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 88th minute of play. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Carlisle Fenwick tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute Jason Sperling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlisle Fenwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 93rd minute, Willy Stieler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the game, Boroondara Milan's Carlisle Fenwick nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-9. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Boroondara Milan eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
