Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Henrique Candal kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 4 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Mike van Kampen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 11th minute, Tord Böcklund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mike van Kampen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 16th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Mike van Kampen in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Durval Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Mike van Kampen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto Peres came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrique Candal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mike van Kampen came out and tried to block the shot, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 29th minute. In the last second Mike van Kampen throw himself and got hold of the ball when Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 33rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Matos Velhos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. In the 36th minute, Henrique Candal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Matos Velhos's Heigo Luiga, in the 36th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Matos Velhos. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabino Vilhena in the 41st minute of play. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabino Vilhena in the 43rd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mike van Kampen quite easily take care of the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Candal came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl Nietlisbach in the 86th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Durval Meira during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th minute, Durval Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Netherlands's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
