Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Samuele Kunz started the match with the kick off. In the 6th match minute, Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Levi von Herren to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the game, C.A. Peñarol's Ramon María Cortés nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hias Nüssli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 9 minutes, Henrico Abeliuk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A. Peñarol and the Switzerland players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 9th minute, Henrico Abeliuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hias Nüssli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maxi López's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Henrico Abeliuk in the 26th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Switzerland's Fridolin Neumeister. 31 minutes into the game, Henrico Abeliuk threw the ball into play from the sideline. Switzerland's Fridolin Neumeister quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Timo Siegmund hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After having played for 35 minutes, Henrico Abeliuk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A. Peñarol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrico Abeliuk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Switzerland's attentive Rodrigo von Känel managed to snatch the ball when Henrico Abeliuk made a throw-in in the 41st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxi López in the 42nd minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 minutes, Timo Siegmund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Switzerland and the C.A. Peñarol players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Switzerland's Timo Siegmund got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Tamariz Figueroa charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tamariz Figueroa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tamariz Figueroa hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Samuele Kunz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maxi López made a kick off. In the 56th match minute, Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Wiesendanger to maneuver through the defense. Ramon María Cortés, 57 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Timeteo Amthauer struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Hias Nüssli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Peñarol. Samuele Kunz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Benavente having to interfere. Abner Iturribalzaga charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abner Iturribalzaga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 66th minute, Abner Iturribalzaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samuele Kunz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Benavente having to interfere. Ramon María Cortés made in the 69th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Switzerland's Federico Wiesendanger. 71 minutes into the match, C.A. Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Samuele Kunz came free, but Samuel Benavente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Switzerland's Fridolin Neumeister got a free kick in the 72nd minute. C.A. Peñarol's Samuel Benavente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuele Kunz in the 75th minute of play. When Samuele Kunz came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Switzerland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuele Kunz couldn't finish the play. Jacinto Maurer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Samuel Benavente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Rodrigo von Känel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. Peñarol's zone, Samuele Kunz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Benavente came out of the goal and Samuele Kunz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
