In the 20th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Barreto in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cláudio Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, AKÇEŞMESPOR's Wilson Amorim threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gogo Chuse, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cláudio Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Caetano Moreira took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Taffarel. Cláudio Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Babür Kongurtay sent off a good shot on target. Cláudio Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Don Mateo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodolfo Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Lütfullah Enfal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wilson Amorim. Portugal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

A collision led to AKÇEŞMESPOR getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Friedrich Nietzsche hit a great ball. If Caetano Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Don Mateo was shown his second yellow card after 80 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After some careless play in the AKÇEŞMESPOR defense, Felipinho Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cláudio Taffarel. The AKÇEŞMESPOR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cláudio Taffarel should have stopped the shot. 87 minutes into the game, Felipinho Amorim recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cláudio Taffarel. Felipinho Amorim showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Daniel Pimentel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cláudio Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 92nd minute of play. When AKÇEŞMESPOR's Babür Kongurtay in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
