After having played for 9 minutes, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Major Barna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Procopio Trespalacios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 18th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Borys Lepper in the 22nd minute of the match. Borys Lepper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. In the 52nd minute Takacs Tibor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Procopio Trespalacios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Balazs Lajos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Procopio Trespalacios skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Procopio Trespalacios made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Spartans Lodz's Herbert Gozdowski was substituted for Ryszard Obuchowicz. When Andris Kapenieks fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spartans Lodz's protests and gave Andris Kapenieks a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Hungary a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Antal Valentin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Spartans Lodz's Procopio Trespalacios. 1-3. Spartans Lodz made a substitution. Karol Karp replaced Tolek Maziarski. Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Procopio Trespalacios didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. 79 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Procopio Trespalacios. Spartans Lodz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antal Valentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcin Marchewka in the 87th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Antal Valentin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Procopio Trespalacios. That made the score 1-5 in the 89 minute of play. Hungary's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
