Válbson Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Válbson Paiva was slow to take the kick. During this time Cadu Team's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Válbson Paiva got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tommy Kahn quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Frank Sachs's late challenge caught a Cadu Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Sachs helped the player get up and apologised. Frank Sachs kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Válbson Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great ball. The supporters of Cadu Team booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Válbson Paiva sent off a good shot on target. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The corner led Cadu Team's Válbson Paiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Tommy Kahn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Lepuș having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Cadu Team's Válbson Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Válbson Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Cadu Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válbson Paiva couldn't finish the play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ulrich Stein hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gelu Lepuș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson Paiva in the 58th minute of play. In the 64th minute, Válbson Paiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. A throw-in in the 66th minute of the game was made by Chris Mergenthaler with Frank Sachs as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a defensive mix-up in Cadu Team's zone, Frank Sachs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gelu Lepuș came out of the goal and Frank Sachs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 75 minutes, Válbson Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cadu Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Válbson Paiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 played minutes Cadu Team got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Gerber. In the 86th minute, Hugo Alcântara made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 93rd minute, Renato Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Válbson Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Cadu Team's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
