Antal Valentin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tony Vandenberge firmly grabbed it by the left post. After taking down the ball on Hungary's corner Antal Valentin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tony Vandenberge quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernand De Beer in the 36th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the game, RWDM's Arnold Bosmans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fodor Daniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Tony Vandenberge made an important save on a dangerous shot by Major Barna in the 41st minute. Major Barna had several of the RWDM's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 42 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-1 score and a disappointed Tony Vandenberge as he didn't even see the shot coming. Gilian Bauwmans's late challenge caught a Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The wind increased when Antal Valentin made the kick off in the second half. Fodor Daniel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Tony Vandenberge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Lennert Van der Vloedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RWDM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lennert Van der Vloedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. RWDM's Tony Vandenberge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 65th minute of play. Tony Vandenberge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 69th minute of the match. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fre Schoovaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
