An unexpectedly hard shot by Benny Hill in the 14th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, FC Draconia's Jerome Ngake got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Jerome Ngake in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jerome Ngake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 33rd minute of play. In the 37th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerome Ngake was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 40 minutes into the match, Joaquin Lekubegi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benny Hill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benny Hill in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, FC Draconia's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Jerome Ngake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerome Ngake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Netherlands booed when FC Draconia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragutin Kasaikin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerome Ngake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lars Meesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerome Ngake having to interfere. Jerome Ngake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Benny Hill came free with the goalkeeper in the 92nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arnout Reekers could save by the left post. When Walter Bernaerts fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Draconia's protests and gave Walter Bernaerts a yellow card for diving instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
