If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul Dumitru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Francisco Beltran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Paul Dumitru came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Rova Rosiori made a substitution. Gabriel Măcriș replaced Sergiu Burdea. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Beltran in the 39th minute of the match. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Rova Rosiori was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kuzman Kukushev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Paul Dumitru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Rova Rosiori fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. A collision led to Rova Rosiori getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Natanael Moreno hit a great ball. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Rova Rosiori was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pompiliu Trişcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 81st minute of play forced Rova Rosiori's goalkeeper Paul Dumitru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bas Tuitert fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Bas Tuitert a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Rova Rosiori a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Flavius Grec, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. 3-4. Rova Rosiori's Paul Dumitru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Rova Rosiori from getting a goal against them. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Măcriș in the 91st minute of play. The Netherlands players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
