Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ritchie De Smedt having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by 于强常 in the 36th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when 于强常 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, ≮王者归来≯多特蒙德's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Ritchie De Smedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Belgium were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The ≮王者归来≯多特蒙德 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Belgium's performance. The match ended with a win for Belgium.
