Portugal:s Wilson Amorim showed great skill when he stopped Ingemar Stålman:s penalty. 3 minutes into the game, Ingemar Stålman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Hermanö Oilers's Apa Banana got a free kick in the 5th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Hermanö Oilers's goalkeeper Oskar Haeger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 9th minute of play forced Hermanö Oilers's goalkeeper Oskar Haeger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Hermanö Oilers's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Oskar Haeger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dave Di Filippo might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dave Di Filippo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 10th minute Dave Di Filippo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Hermanö Oilers booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oskar Haeger made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Erland Mellin hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Oskar Haeger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a rather tough play, Hermanö Oilers's Ingemar Stålman got a free kick in the 31st minute. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Viriato Moura sped through Hermanö Oilers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Oskar Haeger. Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Hermanö Oilers from getting a goal against them. The corner led Portugal's Felipe Barreto to fire away a dangerous shot which Oskar Haeger despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Ingemar Stålman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hermanö Oilers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingemar Stålman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd match minute, Hermanö Oilers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apa Banana to maneuver through the defense. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Oskar Haeger made a huge save. When Erland Mellin fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hermanö Oilers's protests and gave Erland Mellin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Hermanö Oilers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erland Mellin to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Portugal's players were relieved. 63 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ingemar Stålman. Ingemar Stålman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. Dave Di Filippos short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Wilson Amorim to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Harry Forsman got a throw-in 74 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ingemar Stålman. In the 76th minute, Raul Caetano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Caetano Moreira hit a great ball. Portugal's attentive Bruno Bastos managed to snatch the ball when Harry Forsman made a throw-in in the 84th minute of the game. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Dave Di Filippo sent off a good shot on target. 91 minutes into the game, Harry Forsman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hermanö Oilers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugal the free kick. Harry Forsman hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Oskar Haeger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Hermanö Oilers defense, Bartolomeu Dias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oskar Haeger. The Hermanö Oilers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oskar Haeger should have stopped the shot.
