Gökhan Sehhar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Nygaard, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute, Sven-Ove Björkdahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute, Yılmaz Veli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 21 minutes on the clock, Çeliker Orun commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Balıkesirspor:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Denmark:s goal. Chris Nygaard shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 25th minute, Atilla Kağan Reşit got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bertram Svenningsen kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Vânderson Pitta struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balıkesirspor. Gökhan Sehhar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 34th minute of play. If Bertram Svenningsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Denmark's zone, Şenel Tuğsavan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal and Şenel Tuğsavan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Atilla Kağan Reşit made a kick off. Atilla Kağan Reşit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Ove Björkdahl hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 61 played minutes Balıkesirspor got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Ove Björkdahl. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilla Kağan Reşit, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 65th match minute, Balıkesirspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aytek Bucak to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the match, Denmark's Chris Nygaard broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A throw-in in the 74th minute of the game was made by Şenel Tuğsavan with Atilla Kağan Reşit as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Balıkesirspor's Vânderson Pitta. But to his dismay, Vânderson Pitta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. With a little luck, Denmark's Keld Paulsen got control of the ball when Atilla Kağan Reşit tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bertram Svenningsen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bertram Svenningsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gökhan Sehhar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 92nd minute of play forced Balıkesirspor's goalkeeper Gökhan Sehhar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 96 minutes, Chris Nygaard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris Nygaard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Denmark supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Balıkesirspor's performance. The match ended with a win for Balıkesirspor.
