Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Loui Dyndgaard sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Gettrup SIK's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torben Drieø came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Gustaaf Groeneveldt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Torben Drieø was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Torben Drieø made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 18th minute of play. Gettrup SIK's Torben Drieø played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 22nd minute of play. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Kris Noander tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 29 minutes Gettrup SIK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Gettrup SIK's Torben Drieø managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 32nd minute of play forced Gettrup SIK's goalkeeper Torben Drieø to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Gettrup SIK's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Torben Drieø reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes Gettrup SIK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kris Noander got free with Arnout Reekers in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 40 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Torben Drieø made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Gettrup SIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walentin Stammerjohan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some careless play in the Gettrup SIK defense, Lars Meesters kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Torben Drieø. The Gettrup SIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Torben Drieø should have stopped the shot. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Noander, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 56th minute of play forced Gettrup SIK's goalkeeper Torben Drieø to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isak Krontoft kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th match minute, Gettrup SIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastean Staniok to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loui Dyndgaard in the 64th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastean Staniok kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 69 played minutes Gettrup SIK got a freekick which was hit by Sebastean Staniok. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Torben Drieø didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Loui Dyndgaard went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Gettrup SIK's Joachim Kragstrup was substituted for Isak Krontoft. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Noander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Netherlands walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
