If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristiano Messi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Cristiano Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Adelino Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Centinela Español FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. With a little luck, Centinela Español FC's Giannis Papadas got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Centinela Español FC's Giannis Papadas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Centinela Español FC from getting a goal against them. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Estevan Aranguea in the 36th minute of play. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Centinela Español FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Giannis Papadas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zelipe Hidalgo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Mathijn Doctor kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Zelipe Hidalgo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Centinela Español FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zelipe Hidalgo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giannis Papadas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute.
