With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olaf Geiger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olaf Geiger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 20th minute of play. Hungary's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antal Valentin in the 21st minute. Fire Devils's Olaf Geiger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 28th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Zlatko Ibrahimović's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 30thth minute of the game Zlatko Ibrahimović who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zlatko Ibrahimović in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zlatko Ibrahimović, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Olaf Geiger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Geiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olaf Geiger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hegedus Henrik, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antal Valentin to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Edmílson Gaúcho made a precise shot to the right of Fodor Daniel. Hungary's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After having played for 63 minutes, Edmílson Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fire Devils's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmílson Gaúcho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Olof Palm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fire Devils's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hungary the free kick. The supporters of Hungary booed when Fire Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olof Palm didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Fire Devils's Edmílson Gaúcho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Hungary booed when Fire Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olaf Geiger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 83rd minute. Major Barna took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olaf Geiger. Olaf Geiger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Fire Devils made a substitution. Garson Pfäffli replaced Samuel Giger. Olaf Geiger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 91st minute. Antal Valentin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Olaf Geiger skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Edmílson Gaúcho came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Fire Devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmílson Gaúcho couldn't finish the play. Hungary's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
