Tiaguinho Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Trindade Atlético Club's Tiaguinho Correia. Tiaguinho Correia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagoberto Dracena got free with Wilson Amorim in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dagoberto Dracena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Víktor Magalhães. 47 minutes into the match, Dagoberto Dracena notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

Rodolfo Miranda hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Trindade Atlético Club's Tiaguinho Correia got control of the ball when Viriato Moura tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute Maurinho Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Dias came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurinho Dias in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Víktor Magalhães made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. After 67 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Miranda. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Trindade Atlético Club made a substitution. Fulgencio Rius replaced Korhan Kutalmış. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Rodolfo Miranda hit a great ball. Bartolomeu Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Falcão de Barros who took care of the corner kick. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Dias in the 81st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Dagoberto Dracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Dagoberto Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dagoberto Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Trindade Atlético Club's Róbson Couto. But to his dismay, Róbson Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Tiaguinho Correia threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bartolomeu Dias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
