AA Bełchatów's Leonard Rosen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save AA Bełchatów from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute, Ryszard Przewozik ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Casper Claes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 13th minute, Simon Sabbe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryszard Przewozik struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Casper Claes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AA Bełchatów. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind AA Bełchatów's goalkeeper Leonard Rosen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryszard Przewozik in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match AA Bełchatów got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dadá do Nascimento ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led AA Bełchatów's Dadá do Nascimento to fire away a dangerous shot which Casper Claes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariusz Basaik in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in AA Bełchatów's zone, Edward Vanderstraeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonard Rosen came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ryszard Przewozik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, AA Bełchatów's Leonard Rosen got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Belgium players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AA Bełchatów were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Vanderstraeten to strike the kick off in the second half. When Ryszard Przewozik came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the AA Bełchatów fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryszard Przewozik couldn't finish the play. Leonard Rosen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 58th minute of the match. Edward Vanderstraeten took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonard Rosen. Leonard Rosen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. AA Bełchatów's Konrad Klack quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Floris Claeys, made in the 64th minute of the game. Konrad Klack hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After 69 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. AA Bełchatów's Leonard Rosen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ryszard Przewozik in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten made a precise shot to the right of Leonard Rosen. AA Bełchatów's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. In the 76th minute, Dadá do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 86th minute of play forced AA Bełchatów's goalkeeper Leonard Rosen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind AA Bełchatów's goalkeeper Leonard Rosen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
