Fabricio Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over John Osomo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Matías Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The nice shot from Felipe Barreto in the 68thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but John Osomo had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Bruno do Vale was substituted for Francisco Aparecido. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Dudu Fernandes was substituted for Ture Rosendahl. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ made a substitution.
