Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. 14 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Hipólito Peralta came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Hipólito Peralta in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. Rogério Boaventura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 19th minute of play. Rogério Boaventura made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Mariano Gueifão charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mariano Gueifão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 23 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogério Boaventura narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Hipólito Peralta came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a free kick in the 30th minute. LeoMel F.C.'s Rogério Boaventura proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save LeoMel F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Boaventura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 46 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

After 63 played minutes LeoMel F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Gueifão. Frederico Aguiar's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bas Tuitert during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Bas Tuitert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Idalécio Luz from long distance, 90 minutes into the match, got Arnout Reekers's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Lemos, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Netherlands fully deserved thier win.
