Alexander Higgins came out and tried to block the shot, but Albert Grigorie slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 9th minute. Anton Platon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Higgins having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as JUNIOR 2012's Anton Platon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alexander Higgins. That made the score 3-0 after 16 minutes of play. Radu Olăroiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Alexander Higgins made a huge save. When Jack MacKinnon fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Scotland's protests and gave Jack MacKinnon a yellow card for diving instead. Jack MacKinnon kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Alexander Higgins made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Anton Platon sent off a good shot on target. Alexander Higgins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Olăroiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Radu Olăroiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Scotland's Alexander Higgins got control of the ball when Radu Olăroiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anton Platon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexander Higgins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. JUNIOR 2012's Anton Platon got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anton Platon in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Higgins saved Scotland from getting behind. Alexander Higgins made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Anton Platon sent off a good shot on target. Albert Grigorie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. JUNIOR 2012's Calistrat Hurmuzescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fletcher Main in the 48th minute of play.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anton Platon was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fletcher Main got free with Calistrat Hurmuzescu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alexander Higgins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anton Platon's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute of the match JUNIOR 2012 got a corner. Scotland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Virgil Oprescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Calistrat Hurmuzescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ashton Nelson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Alexander Higgins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Platon in the 64th minute of the match. Alexander Higgins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton Platon went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Platon in the 89th minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Higgins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radu Olăroiu in the 91st minute of play. Zac O'Donnell hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
