But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elvijs Presley couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Malmö White Knights's zone, Daniel Pimentel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnny Banks came out of the goal and Daniel Pimentel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvijs Presley in the 21st minute of play. In the 47th minute, Felipe Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Barreto in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Banks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Rodolfo Miranda got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The audience was convinced that Bartolomeu Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johnny Banks was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The Portugal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Malmö White Knights's performance. The match ended with a win for Malmö White Knights.
