Johnny Banks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 4th minute. The corner led Italy's Eliseo Cutri to fire away a dangerous shot which Johnny Banks despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Malmö White Knights's Elvijs Presley in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Italy's goalie prevented a goal. Flavio Vittori didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elvijs Presley went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the match, Malmö White Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnny Banks read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. When Roby Baggio fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malmö White Knights's protests and gave Roby Baggio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Malmö White Knights's Roby Baggio got a free kick in the 30th minute. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roby Baggio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vilhelm Holm kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Johnny Banks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute.

Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Elvijs Presley sent off a good shot on target. Johnny Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 56th minute of play. Deodato Magliozzi made in the 66th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Porziano Marchitelli however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 67th minute of play forced Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zaccheo Andolina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Banks having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 71st minute of play forced Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zaccheo Andolina in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Banks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 73rd minute of play forced Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Italy booed when Malmö White Knights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiph Enström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Italy made a substitution. Guiscardo Davide replaced Sigfrido Auletta. When Adriano Curto came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Curto couldn't finish the play. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Curto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adriano Curto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnny Banks read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Italy players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
