Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 3rd minute of play. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Kevin Keegan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 12th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström. Karl-Erik Norström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 16th minute of the match. Karl-Erik Norström came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 20th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Kevin Keegan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Kevin Keegan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, Chen Ao Fan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Mathijn Doctor kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 30th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Chen Ao Fan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skövde AIK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Erik Norström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Erik Norström saved Skövde AIK from getting behind. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 3-3 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Chen Ao Fan made the kick off in the second half. Karl-Erik Norström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 52nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Gust Ennemans got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Karl-Erik Norström quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Skövde AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Karl-Erik Norström made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karl-Erik Norström. That made the score 3-4 after 58 minutes of play. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Norström having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when David Eikelkamp came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Karl-Erik Norström saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Kevin Keegan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Keegan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Bas Tuitert hit a great ball. After 80 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Filip Brolin. 89 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
